The lamp is as bright as the original and appears to be of the same design as the markings on the back and as mentioned by other reviewers from time to time a little high at the time, but it's nothing that audio doesn't drown out, and for something that gets a projector up and running for less than half the OEM price, it's no big deal. My lightbulb blew up internally so I replaced it. I had to take the whole lid off, shake and blow out the whole jar, luckily nothing else was damaged. Now with the new lightbulb, I realized how bad my picture was as my old lightbulb kept getting worse. Whenever there was going to be a dark scene, I couldn't see anything at all, but now I can.
