2 SIZES SMALLER! Luckily I read another review that said the size is 2 full sizes smaller! [I hesitated but decided to go for it anyway and ordered 5 when I usually order 7/8] I got a size 5 for my just 7 year old (son) to dress up as Hermione Granger from Harry Potter for Halloween, and it fits perfectly without adjusting the available elastic adjusters hidden in the waistband of the skirt, which would only help if I needed to make the waist appear smaller. This is a longer fit and fully covers my child's knees. Durable but not very elastic material, easily wrinkled during transport. I expect it will hold its shape very well with proper washing and storage; but I haven't washed it yet and will most likely just wash/dry it anyway.
