Unlined for easy patching. Soft to wear and since it's washable I don't worry about lugging it around. It's more than you think. I had two large books, a small tripod, pencils, a planner, some batteries. And it was all kept in this bag. I will carry this bag for years. I'm a bit concerned about the stability of the zipper (seems cheap) but I'll just replace it with metal if it breaks.
