I have this to light up my keyhole when driving home in the dark in the middle of winter. Installed and has been working flawlessly for 2 days. Then the weather changed during the day when I got home, the temperature outside was around 0F (-18C). It was from 10-25F earlier. The light came on as expected as he approached the door. However, once inside, I looked outside and noticed that it kept turning on and off. The same behavior was observed by some other reviewers. I opened the door, detached it from the mounting plate and carried it inside. I didn't touch the switch, just removed it from anything that moves. After a while it went off and stayed off. Then it works correctly when I wave my hand. After it was fully warmed up, I put it back by the door. It stayed off all night (it was <0F). The next morning I went out and everything happened as expected. I waited outside to see if it would go out and stay off. But it repeated the on/off cycle again. So I brought it back in and after a short warm up the behavior stopped. I'm an electronics engineer and it's clear that this product has some temperature dependent components that the designer didn't consider. If you use it anywhere it never gets much below freezing, this seemed to work well and might be the perfect solution for my needs, but it can get very cold here for a couple of months (when needed most), so that works for me.
