Review on Epson WorkForce Wireless Supertank Ethernet by Richard Gross

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This is a great printer!

I started owning HP printers but was frustrated that they use 3 color cartridges in addition to black. When one color ran out, I had to change the whole cartridge, which cost me $50-$60 if I remember correctly. Then if you had one as a backup and the printer decided the date read was too old, you couldn't use it at all even if it wasn't being used! I switched to Canon and am very happy. Multiple color cartridges in addition to one or two black ones. They were able to see through the cartridge to make sure that if the printer said a color was missing, it was NO! But you always had to wait for the first sheet while the printer belched and farted. The resulting prints - text or photographs - were excellent. But then Canon started making printers that required opaque cartridges as well as multi-color cartridges. And ink prices went up. So I tried this Epson. Love how multiple reservoirs fill up, the cost of the ink, and the fact that they give you a TON of ink to start with. Print text and photos over it! The printer responds quickly to the "Print" command and also prints quickly and quietly. Holds lots of paper. You only have one paper tray, so you can't choose envelopes or photo paper without deleting what you already have as your default media. I would deduct 1/2 star for that, but I can't give it a full 5. There is trouble. But I think this should probably be blamed on Apple, not Epson. (I use a Mac.) I really wanted this printer to work as advertised and print on both sides of the page when needed. I couldn't figure it out myself and even uninstalled and reinstalled the driver multiple times, restarted my Mac with Mojave OS, etc. I called Epson support. I only had to press 2 buttons and the person came in in 1 minute. Major advantage. This nice lady from India(?), who was a bit difficult for me to understand, worked with me on it for about half an hour. In the end here is the solution. Incidentally, this solution also worked with an old Canon favorite that also no longer duplexed. I hope this information saves someone from going bald like me from this and other age-related issues! Here is: How to Perform Duplex (Two-Sided) Printing on Epson ET-37501. Click Print2. Click on the dropdown menu in the application name. Example: TextEdit3. Choose Printer Features4. Scroll MUCH down to Binding Edge and select 2-Sided Long Edge5. Then enable duplex printing 4 steps down6. KEEP THIS SELECTION OPEN, click "Print" below. After this document is printed, duplex printing is disabled by default and you must go through the process again to duplex print another document.
