I chose this for my 8 year old and to be honest it's a bit small but for the way you use it it's good and will function. My son laughed at this when it arrived because it looks infantile (it is and I knew it when I picked it up, but it's a tool. Who cares what it looks like). He eventually became fascinated and took advantage of it. Here's what you get: Box (not really for storage) Charging cable (no charging box, you need your own) Toothbrush Instructions for use: Put some toothpaste on the top and bottom, put it in your mouth and turn it on . It has 3 settings (soft, medium and strong). They all look the same to me. Move your toothbrush from side to side. It will probably cover a young child's entire set of teeth, but my 8 year old had to move from side to side to cover his molars on each side. He likes a solid setup and is highly motivated to brush his teeth. The first few times I put toothpaste on it because if there's too much of it, it's difficult to clean. A little goes a long way, especially when you're loading the top and bottom. Works well and was ready to use without charging. We've been using it for about a week and a half and haven't had to charge it yet. 5/5, the only downside is the cleaning. If toothpaste remains on it, you need to dampen it with water and maybe brush it with a second brush to clean it.
