Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great device! Inclined to specs. Really great apps.

This is by far one of the best $100 purchases I've ever made! The "advantages" (additional headband, black interior color, wider field of vision) over the consumer version are very nice. I have no issues with screen fogging during use; However, it does fog up after removal, so you'll need to quickly wipe the lenses before using them again. Lenses tend to be dust magnets too - store the device well when not in use (it comes with a lens cap and dust bag) or you'll spend 15 minutes blowing off/collecting all the dust on it. Lens! It really breaks immersion when the lenses are dirty. I had no problems with rapid overheating. This will of course make me take a break after long and heavy use, but I've put through over an hour of heavy gaming without any heat warnings! I'm not prone to seasickness so it wasn't a problem for me. Maybe 1/10th of the people I've shown it to have nausea so I wouldn't worry unless you're very prone to it. My dad was on the bench for 30 minutes after riding Space Mountain at Disney World and even he was fine with Gear VR! I also had no complaints with prolonged use (over an hour). The range of applications is constantly growing, especially with the release of the consumer version. All apps in the store run smoothly. There's even a good selection of free apps, although some of the really great ones will cost $10. Some games require a Bluetooth controller ($20-$80 at Revain), but most don't. There are plenty of app store staples such as Netflix and now an internet browser, both of which work very well! You can also play any video from your phone, which means you can watch any movie in a theater that really feels like a full-size cinema! Haven't bothered to see a horror movie about it yet, but I'm sure it's awful! Ocean Rift (full version) and Land's End are two outstanding apps. Beware of the Megalodon!
