Very high quality materials, but functionality leaves a lot to be desired. The straps are actually a single piece of fabric that is threaded through a central loop. You can shorten the overall length of a single piece, but you can't prevent it from slipping back and forth through the loop, so the straps are always different lengths. The opening is closed with a drawstring and is smaller than the bag itself, which makes it very difficult to insert and remove folders and books. The clasps are stiff and take some muscle power. Irregularly sized pockets, things fall out easily. I bought it for my 5th grade. At the end of the first week he gave up and started using his old backpack from last year. Very disappointed with this product, especially considering the price.
