This was bought for my mum who was battling from head to toe with a severe flare up of psoriasis that was leaving her hands cracked, cracked and uncomfortable . The product corresponds to the picture and the description. I have tested various other coal tar products and the highest percentage of coal tar I could find was 5% (in shampoo) so I was thrilled when I found this 100% coal tar soap! I gave my mom the soap to try and she LOVES it! Since she uses coal tar ointment (2% coal tar), coal tar lotion (2% coal tar) and coal tar shampoo (5% coal tar), she even prefers to use this coal tar soap to wash her hair. ! Overall she likes it a lot (I even bought/gifted her some White Zinc soap) and prefers this soap. This soap definitely has an SMELL (it smells like grease to me, like a car). Mechanic right after working on the car when it's covered in auto lube *shrugs, it's not dirty or awful, just a little strong) BUT the smell goes away pretty quickly after a shower. Since it appears to be the highest percentage of coal tar available, I would definitely give it a try if using coal tar. However, remember that coal tar is DRY, so it can cause scalp dryness (dandruff) when used as a soapy shampoo and applied to the scalp. My mother says that the hair is very soft. I would also recommend applying a moisturizer to the scalp when using it as a shampoo, e.g. B. Using 100% coconut oil and leaving it on your hair and rubbing it into your scalp after you shower but before drying or styling. For the body I would recommend coconut oil or coca oil (not cream) but 100% stick or bar, just heat with body heat or liquid if that's your preference. I can't say more about the soap. While NOT an instant remedy, I find it helps with psoriasis itching and discomfort. COST = very reasonable for a two bar pack and also when compared to similar coal tar soaps and even other soap products on the market. online in general.
