I bought an XL and thought it was too big at first but since I didn't want to bother ordering a smaller size to compare, I've just kept the XL. I actually like the extra overlap. Overall, the back brace is strong and secure around my back and the overlay adds to that feeling. I have bought 2 back braces from a local grocery store and they have worn out really fast due to the typical Velcro. After a few weeks of use, when I attach the Velcro on the cheaper brace, it almost instantly detaches with the slightest movement. FEATOL uses high-grade Velcro that stays. (I've only owned this for a week so hopefully it will continue to!)
