Revainrating 5 out of 5

I'm excited about this calculator. The picture on the monitor is great!

Great to be the very first reviewer here! I love this laptop! afford incredible technology like this just because it's a few years old [EDIT: I paid $314 for this computer. When I returned to the site, I found that they start at $999. Look for one in the $300-$350 range, you can find it if you search hard.] I first discovered the incredibleness of refurbished Dell laptops about six years ago. Looking for cheap used laptops that we could afford, we visited a used laptop shop at a computer repair service. Among the various cheaper laptops, there were four or five Dells that were more expensive and significantly higher quality than the others. The owner explained that these Dell laptops were high-end laptops that were leased to business people, and when the leases ended Dell would take them back, replace them with newer ones, and sell the old ones to tradesmen. Their greatest advantage was that they were strong enough to be carried when travelling. They were much heavier than regular laptops, which might have mattered to a college student running from class to class, but not for me. I just couldn't afford it. I haven't found the same laptops much cheaper at Revain yet. Of course, buying online carries a much higher risk than buying from a retailer you know personally. But I decided to take a chance. My husband loved it so much he bought one for himself. Then, two years later, we went the same route and replaced them with Dell refurbished ones. This is now the 5th between us and my husband is planning to get one. First, sometimes refurbished computers aren't perfect. My husband's two refurbished Dell laptops were perfect, but my first one was so quiet you couldn't hear it without headphones or speakers. My second had a very weak battery which the seller promptly replaced. It also had a weird bad touch mouse and I ended up with a remote mouse. But the shortcomings were something I could put up with given the overall quality of the computer. So when I was told that Windows 7 was no longer supported and that it made more sense to get a new laptop than to put Windows 10 on an old one, I contacted Dell again at Revain. This laptop turned out to be absolutely perfect, aside from the hyperactive touch mouse that randomly made pages big and small, but I finally figured out how to turn it off. SO - this model compared to previous Dell models (which means Dell is already better, so that's a high baseline) The picture quality on the monitor is AMAZING! Literally! It is said to have four times the resolution of previous monitors, and just watching simple nature videos on YouTube never fails to amaze us! Look at these leaves! Look at the feathers on this bird's face! Delicacy of color, visibility of depth. I've never seen anything like this on a laptop! That's great! (On the other hand, to be honest I read in a review of this model that the colors captured by the webcam are not true, good for skype but not enough for your youtube videos. Just quote for information, the colors of ( The webcam seems satisfactory to me (that was the only downside mentioned in the in-depth review) This laptop is also a lot lighter than previous Dell models if weight is an issue for you, yet it feels just as durable It feels like an excellent computer in every way, and it's only $314 (for a laptop new four years ago that cost almost $1,900), but the image quality of the monitor just can't believe it. It looks almost 3 dimensional and the colors are so rich and nuanced Every time I turn it on and see that picture quality it just keeps WOW It's dazzling I think it needs some significant improvements advances in monitor technology. I might be the last to know. But when I look at a photo of my old laptop, it looks flat and dead in comparison. Get this computer at least for the great picture on the monitor. It will be worth it even if you are not lucky enough to get a perfectly refurbished computer. (Be prepared for a refurbished computer to have minor flaws - in our experience, the odds of getting a refurbished Dell with no flaws are only about 60%.) By the way, I just discovered that it comes with built-in speech recognition software . It also has a touch screen and you can draw with your finger. Here are some of the new programs in this computer, I know there are a few more that I haven't found. And again, as a senior citizen with a very low income, I am amazed at a country that allows such miracles even for poor people. When I was a kid, you had to be a billionaire to do half of what I can do with this laptop, and even the other half would be impossible. Today is Christmas and a good day to be thankful for blessings.
