My electrician advised me to get a whole house surge protector. It was difficult for a person completely unfamiliar with such things to understand what to take. I did a lot of research on the internet, which I didn't find particularly helpful as the descriptions aren't meant to be understandable to the average layperson. I tried contacting Leviton and an online electrician to explain what I need and that I'm looking to install this in a small apartment building. None of them pushed me into other products or told me that this product, which I was specifically looking for for the reason above, is not suitable for my home. I bought it and called an electrician to install it. I was then informed that this product was not suitable for my purposes. I had to return it.
