These silicone coasters protect my work surface and table from the heat of hot pots/pans and other kitchen utensils. They are easy to clean with a cloth or soapy water if you spill anything. I didn't wash them in the dishwasher as I chose black and I'm afraid they will take on a whitish appearance over time. I hang them behind the stove for easy access and they add beautiful heat resistant wall art that complements my kitchen decor perfectly.
