Revainrating 4 out of 5

This ab brace is so close to what I found to be a 5 star ab brace.

FULL DISCLOSURE: I purchased this as a post-op abdominal bandage. I have a surgical incision about 12 inches long that starts 3 inches above the navel and ends just above the pubic bone. I have had 3 surgeries in the last 3 years. First there was a resection of the colon, then a hernia repair and a small incision. bowel resection. I'm not a newbie when it comes to abdominal bandages. I also **do not** wear this bandage over my clothes as shown in the picture. I think some people can wear it at home as shown in the picture. that would be just stupid. In my honest opinion nobody makes a 5 star ab brace these days. This tape is as close as I am to finding the perfect post-surgical tummy tuck. Let me start with the pros: - The fabric of this strap really breathes. Even with high humidity and hot summer temperatures, I didn't break a sweat with this band. Not sure how wearing it over clothing as shown in the photo will affect the strap breathing or if you sweat. - The material, workmanship and Velcro on the strap are of high quality and appear to be made to last. The strap is fully adjustable to fit a maximum hip/waist measurement of 62 inches down to the smallest size you need as the Velcro attaches to the strap. This does not apply to all Velcro tummy tucks. The strap is machine washable and easy to clean. Here are the minor downsides to this ab brace: The lining of the strap that comes into contact with your skin is *not* soft. If you are using it as a post-operative abdominal bandage *and* are not wearing clothing between you and the bandage, you should not use this bandage until all stitches and staples have been removed and all cuts have healed. I have tried several tummy tuck bandages from different manufacturers and different widths (both 9" and 12"). They **ALL** roll up and/or roll down which defeats the purpose of wearing the bracelet and makes it very uncomfortable. Oddly enough, 9 inch belly bands are more prone to twisting or rolling down. The BraceAbility strap does this less than others I've worn, but it still happens. Overall I give this belly band 4 stars. Velcro and great stitching make a good ab brace ready to go. There are 2 improvements BraceAbility can make to take it from a 4 star ab brace to a 5 star ab brace: 1 - Add a soft/plush sheet of the Material added Back of strap faces skin for comfort.2 - Sew pockets and add *removable* plastic rivets to sides and back of strap to keep them from twisting or puckering.
