Does not breathe: Bedding

This is the second duvet I have bought from this brand. I like the price, patterns and weight for summer. I got my first one last summer. It wasn't until we used this new one for a few nights this week (it's dead winter now) that I realized this is causing the frequent horrible night sweats. In the summer I change two light duvets. In winter we use a thick goose down comforter with duvet cover. I only used the Wake In Cloud duvet in the summer and only used it with the sheet. I assumed the night sweats were due to the summer heat and/or hormonal issues, they were common, but not every night. These sweats were so bad most nights I thought I was going to wet my bed so I went to the doctor about it thinking that since the product is so light and breathable it must be something with me, in fact I often was cool/cold at night with this thing. Anyway, I'm switching to our trusty, extra warm goose down this autumn/winter - NO SWEET. My inattentive self just thought it was because it was cold in the house and whatever problems I was solving. I did not think about that. This new duvet is coming (Wake in Cloud) as it washes very well and we have a new puppy and we didn't want the good goose down to be ruined in accidents, the first night I woke up in a sweat several times. The next 2 nights are the same. My husband asked what it was made of as he was very hot at night. For some reason this made me click. You know how you forget dreams when you wake up, it was those night sweats - waking up in the middle of the night, soaked, getting water, dehydrated, and in the morning, dehydrated and forgotten. BUT now I know what those blankets are. We switched to our other (INk and IVY) duvet in the middle of the night when he pointed it out to us and had a dry, cozy and comfortable night's sleep. Those two (so no coincidence!) duvets (padding, I think) make us nasty night sweats. In summer they are less breathable than a heavy goose down duvet. IF they are skinny. Maybe it's just us, but I thought I should share.
