Review on Gates 33036 Thermostat by Clinton Youmans

This was recommended by a friend and is perfect for an old 37 Hudson or smaller Terraplane. In principle this should work for all 6-cylinder 212ci engines and 8-cylinder Hudson Splasher 254ci engines. Make sure the flange has a 1/8" diameter hole drilled slightly further from the edge, 1/4" or more. The 1/8" hole does two things: 1) once installed it allows air to escape when you fill the radiator, removing air and filling it completely, 2) it allows liquid to move around a bit so that Spots around the cylinders do not overheat as the engine comes up to temperature. Temperature controller 160 degrees.
