I have had two nightgowns so far. Both are long-sleeved, flannel, and (probably) meant for hibernation and lounging. I think it all depends on how warm/cold it is in your house and the climate you live in. I live in Southern California but it gets cold in the evenings. But sometimes flannel pajamas are too hot and too heavy. I don't know how I got the idea to buy a nightgown. Maybe it's because I saw a photo of a man in a cabin, so I bought one and actually wore it to my friend's cabin at Big Bear. I will say that it was very comfortable. Getting used to sleeping in a nightgown is a whole new experience and not the easiest of things. But nightgowns are actually really good for lounging around the house when you don't feel like wearing something tight. One night I was trying to wash the dishes while wearing a flannel nightgown and the sleeves kept rolling up and getting wet. It was annoying and I wondered if they had made a short sleeve nightgown. And so I looked for it at Revain and found several, but this design was the most attractive. It's kind of sporty and Greek at the same time, if that makes sense. I was nervous about the wrong size but after reading a few reviews I made up my mind and ordered and was pleasantly surprised when I received the product. soft and cool; not warm and heavy like my flannel nightgown. The sleeves are the perfect length and don't bother. This is the perfect nightgown when it's not cold but the temperature is comfortable. It may take a few times to put on a nightgown before you're completely comfortable, but this nightgown is pretty cool.
