The design of this pet blanket is a mystery because when used in a cage, the deep chenille protrusions make it easier for expected disturbances such as vomit and excrement to penetrate the fibres. Not only is the product labeled as a bath rug and not a pet rug, but the care instructions on the label actually relate to the condition of the product: wash cold, do not bleach and dry flat. To kill germs, textiles must be washed in water at 140 to 150 degrees. This strongly suggests that this blanket is useless as a pet blanket, although it can work well as a soft, absorbent pad before a shower or bath. Unfortunately it is sold as a pet blanket when its fabric design and care instructions make it a poor choice for the stated purpose.
