Edit: I contacted the seller and he was very responsive. They sent a replacement and the new one works great! A panel that's attached to the ceiling won't be flush because it can't be tightened enough that it can't move, but no one can tell just by looking at it. We love the look of this lamp and would buy it again. Installation was a bit of a hassle as the panel does not sit flush with the ceiling no matter how hard you tighten the screws. The biggest problem, however, is that a lightbulb burned out immediately, after which the whole thing shorted out and became inoperable within 5 minutes. The switch broke, I had to detach and reattach the lantern. After that he never worked.
