My Pomeranian/Yorky mix has trouble getting out of my bed so I was running up and down the stairs to help him. This ladder has made life a lot easier for both of us. At first he was very reluctant to try them and it took him several days to really learn how to use them. Installation wasn't the easiest, but it was doable. The instructions were clear and all you need is a little patience and make sure to fold all the correct lines. The internal structure looks like cardboard but is actually made of plastic and then there is a removable lid that closes with a zipper. I love the fact that the cover can be washed if needed and theoretically the steps can be taken apart for storage or travel, but I don't think I'll be doing that often. They are very light so it's very easy to move them to different places in my bed. I would say it works well for my dog up to 20lbs but I don't think they would be strong enough for really big dogs. Overall they are very useful and good for those with pets who need a little help getting up and off furniture.
