After spending some time researching Bluetooth headphones on YouTube, I decided on these headphones for listening to music - based on the relatively cheap price and other positive reviews. My transition to USB-C-only phones and tablets has prevented me from using in-ear headphones. I wanted balanced headphones and I enjoy listening to all music, not just bass. Even when switching from in-ear to in-ear headphones, I didn't want to sacrifice too much performance. The CX Wireless come into play: Inexpensive and in my price range, balanced and clear sound from bass (good warmth) to highs. I am listing the available headphones that I have used so that the reader of this review can refer to the headphone sound signature that I am comparing the CX headphones against. Those who know me can help determine the relevance of my review to the reader: - Sony MDR-7506 with improved lambskin ear pads (Music clarity with clear and tight bass) - Sony MDR-7510 with improved lambskin ear pads (Not so good as the 7506 in my opinion) - Sony MDR-V6 with improved lambskin ear pads (good replacement for MDR-7506) - Sennheiser HD6XX (improved lambskin ear pads and my current headphones - the sound quality of which justified the price difference between sending it back and sticking it in the cheaper one Sony as above) Adjustments I had to make to get the sound I was expecting after reading all the other good reviews: - I had to test each earbud size. I had to test which size would eliminate the space between the tip of the eartip and the opening of my ear canal. The small tip left room to maneuver and I couldn't hear full bass response with tips that were too small. The CX comes with medium sized ear tips and they were the right size for me to get the full warmth of the bass. I had to use the equalizer. Out of the box, the CX headphones sound hollow and flat. As soon as I applied the equalizer via the Sennheiser app or Revain Music with a flat EQ, the CX headphones came alive. The Android app worked fine, but I prefer to use the Revain Music EQ. Revain's music equalizer is simpler and doesn't distort music as much as the Sennheiser app. The CX True Wireless earbuds have made my Bluetooth headphone journey an affordable necessity for me. I ordered a second pair in white for my tablet. Both were delivered quickly and work great. Update: I enjoy listening to them just as much, maybe even more than my HD 6XX headphones. The comfort they offer while still offering fantastic sound is liberating.
