I spent $45 on a Thundershirt that helped a little but not much. And then I spent $10 on this thing that looks ridiculous on my pup. BUT IT WORKS! My dog is crazy about fireworks and we stayed at a campsite where not only are there super loud (illegal!) bomb-like explosions every few seconds, but there's nowhere to hide from the noise (our camper isn't up to World War III). The dog had a nervous breakdown: he panicked, tried to hide, trembled so much that his teeth chattered, his breathing quickened. I thought he might be having a heart attack. A few minutes with that thing around his neck and ears and he was practically just banging his head against my legs; wanted to be by my side but I didn't care. He sat him on my lap and although his eyes were still looking around he was so peaceful and calm it was as if he was falling asleep. He didn't even flinch as bombs and firecrackers exploded all night. i am a believer This thing will accompany us wherever there might be fireworks. The small size was perfect for my 11 lb terrier. It's supposed to be cozy and he looks like a baby seal in it, but he doesn't seem to mind too much.
