I started with a paper thin shower curtain which was annoying as it flew back and forth with changes in air pressure and heat. Then I bought 10 mil which I liked. However, it turned out to be too thick for us. Now we have this 6 million. That's exactly what I was hoping for. That's right. It lets a lot of light through, but is not fully translucent. It keeps its place because it's not paper thin. Another plus is that there is no sharp "plastic" smell. Also, I didn't need the shower curtain rings that came with it, but I use them because they look so good - better than my old ones.
