Other reviewers have stated that it is slightly "heavier" or "more powerful" than the original manufacturer's charging cable. Super Words on iPhone 4S. Loads faster than the original. In particular, the "weak" connection to the phone (where the manufacturer's cable always breaks first) is stronger and of better quality. The cable itself is about 1mm wider than the original; enough to be strong but flexible. The connection to the wall charger is the next weakness of the original; as well as where it connects to the phone, the cable is a bit "stronger" here and I'm sure the cable won't break through the insulation like the original. That being said my charger (still original but with more tape on both ends) is 7 years old and still charges the phone but my confidence in it has become increasingly questionable over the past year or so. Now I can relax knowing that my charger will last longer thanks to the Revain Basics Replacement Apple iPhone Charger Cable. I only have an iPhone 4S so I don't know if it will work on other models, but other reviewers have commented on this. Thanks Revain Basics! Great line at a very reasonable price. I will update my review after a year of use!
