SECOND PURCHASE REVIEW - 02/12/2021 - Big Scam! I am incredibly disappointed with my second purchase - exactly the same mattress - exactly the same thickness but a completely different mattress and experience!? You can read below - loved this mattress - originally bought in 2018 - recommended to everyone but this one is so bad - it's so soft I almost sink to the floor - this bed was firm at first but within a month or so less, it was awful - all support was gone - how to sleep in a bowl of mashed potatoes - LOL - got it right? It's been four months since my second purchase and I'm at Revain tonight buying a new mattress - so disappointed! What has Zinus changed? I'm a regular customer - and with good reason - people who have recently bought a Zinus bed on my recommendation have the same problems. I long for the days when products were well made, of good quality, and lived up to expectations. What you buy these days is really "happiness" - unfortunately for me it was. No more Zinus products - yes I have bought other Zinus products - but not anymore - again so sad because I was their biggest fan! I can't recommend more. I wish these bad reviewers would do their research - to learn more about mould, odor etc, read below! :) NO MOLD AND NO SMELL HERE - EVER! UPDATE 6/22/2020 - The bed is STILL fantastic! I use it every night and still highly recommend it. Actually I told a friend and she bought a queen and she loves it too and she's been wearing it for a year too - hubby and they sleep on it every night too! Highly recommended once again, it's the BEST! :) ORIGINAL REVIEW: 2018 I, like many other buyers, have been researching the beds for several weeks. I read review after review, watched video after video, and took many "mattress quizzes" online to find the perfect mattress. I also visited stores and slept in various beds that had rave reviews; I've done my homework, to say the least. It deserves a mention here; not all beds are perfect for every person, it's just unrealistic. Everyone's sleep needs and preferences are completely different and very individual. We need to find a mattress that suits each of us, and all in all, this process makes buying a mattress a terrible experience for most, myself included! :) I was very skeptical about this mattress. The price was the first edition, it's so cheap I thought it might be good. I was also worried that this would be another one of those memory foam mattresses that makes every bone in my body ache when I get up every day. I doubted it would have the pressure relief support I needed. I was also very concerned that the mattress would have the bad odor and/or mold issues that other reviewers here at Revain have experienced. Still, I took the risk. Why? Because it was so cheap and the pressure relief it "promised" I really wanted it. I bought a 10 inch double mattress, a solid base without a box and a white bed surround, all from Zinus and everything else from Revain. I'm a middle-aged woman, and while it might seem strange for an adult to flop into a double bed, I just wanted to. Anyway, I was just using a double piece of my current king bed and it seemed to make sense. I say this so readers know I'm not a kid using a double bed, I'm an adult. The bed arrived and I immediately opened the box - no smell! So thankful! I removed the plastic from the bed, immediately put the plastic back in the box in case the plastic smoked (from what I read) and again didn't smell. I rolled out the bed and in just a few minutes the bed expanded to 99% of its full size. I carried the bed into the bedroom, placed it against the wall next to a well ventilated window and allowed it to expand and air out as described in other videos I've seen for gas. The bed never smelled, not once and expanded to full capacity within an hour. I was pleased! That night I slept on a mattress on the floor as the frame didn't arrive until the next day without a box. I was amazed at how comfortable and supportive this little bed was and I slept very well! The next day the frame arrived without the box and I assembled everything. I had high hopes that my next night's sleep would be even better and I have to say this mattress did not disappoint! I woke up pain free, pain free and only remember one turn in my sleep all night. The next morning I literally woke up and said out loud, "WOW! I can't remember sleeping like this since I was 30!" Well seriously, the only change I made to the bed was the addition of a 2" egg cup at the top. I just prefer the feel of egg crate pillows, but I think the mattress would be just as great without them. Also, this is a medium firm mattress, so if you're looking for 'firm' this isn't it. Also, if you're looking for a very soft bed, it is This bed isn't for you. It's definitely a medium firmness which is perfect for me personally. To be honest I don't doubt the reviews that talked about gas formation and smells. What I actually read is that If pretty much ANY bed is stored or otherwise stored in a crate for an extended period of time, chances are the outgassing will get worse and in some cases it can and will produce mold n it is likely that many of the mattresses that people have received in other negative reviews have been stored for a long period of time. So it's like a "customer beware" situation no matter what bed you buy; that sure stinks – sometimes – in the truest sense of the word! This is just my "opinion" after reading so much about these bloat bed situations. I wish this process was more regulated and I really wish ALL of these products were made in the USA. To this day, whenever I open a product that says "Made in China" or something like that, I always wonder why they can't. here? I don't think it would be that expensive to produce this type of bed in the US, should there be a way to do it? But that's a whole different topic. In my case the mattress was amazing, there was no smell, I slept great and I am incredibly grateful that I took a chance and bought this Zinus mattress, bed frame and skirt, everyone said it was a amazing purchase! I am simply leaving this five star review because it is true to me and I personally highly recommend it! Hope that helps! :)
