Review on Canon PowerShot SD1400IS 14 by Josh Thompson

Great handheld camera - takes good pictures in many situations

First you have to understand that this isn't a $700 Canon DSLR with a $700 lens. This is a really compact and handy camera that takes really great pictures. I've been using mine for 2.5 years now and while one of my brothers and sisters have very good DSLRs, they are bulky and difficult to carry. These expensive cameras take professional-quality photos, but this little camera comes pretty close. I photograph a lot of family gatherings and work projects. Situations range from low light in basements to twilight, outdoor sunlight, indoor lighting and fluorescent lighting. In all these situations, the camera is very useful! I was excited to get it and excited is the right word. It's so easy to wear in jeans or a shirt pocket, it has many photo modes, and I've had a few people ask for my camera when they see my photos. I still admire the portability of this tool and the quality of the recorded films and photos even after 2.5 years. I love this camera. I also recommend purchasing this charger, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0026O57BA/ "Brand New Nb-4l Battery Home Travel Rapid Charger with Car Adapter for Canon PowerShot SD780 IS" to quickly charge a spare battery Substitute. As of May 7, 2013, this charger costs $5.07. A replacement NB-4L battery costs about $5 more. However, the battery lasts quite a long time – an additional charger is not needed for most people.
