Poor quality product

When I bought the product, I had a decent rating, and besides, the manufacturer declared a guarantee of 18 months. So after 5 months the cable breaks apart in the connector area and no longer charges. I tried to contact the manufacturer about the warranty, no answer. If a company cannot stand up for its claims, why make such claims? Just wanted to let people know that the product looks great with the braided outer shell and all, but that's just the looks.
