This thing is cool. I thought my 18 month old son would freak out if I put it on his backpack and played. Instead, he snuggled right into it. (We left the top flap open). As I looked at him on the baby monitor, he squirmed under the dark patch. He never cried. I think he digs it. Thank goodness because he wakes up too early / doesn't want to sleep when we go on trips and he stays in too bright rooms. We like to use this when we travel. UPDATE: We've had this item for years and it's still one of the best purchases I've made for my kids. We use it now for my youngest son and he loves it too. We have used it in many AirBNBs and hotels and it has saved us every time. We have traveled Europe twice with young children and both times it was a life saver and our children slept well and stayed on schedule. It's like getting a random pack and playing on AirBNB, they still recognize it as their own because it has that hue on top. So great.
