With practice everything works. You can ruin the first color, so use a color you don't like or don't like. It was frustrating at first, I was so annoyed that there was no instruction. They're good if you learn how to use them. They're not as big and fluffy as you'd like, but if you're in a pinch and really need a bow, they're good to have.
