I got this cable to connect an external flash to Sony Nex 6 and 7. The electronics are reliable and it is made of high quality material with a durable cable. The problem with this unit is that the cable sticks out rigidly from the hot shoe and gets in the way of the lens, especially a short lens. I had to use a thick rubber band to bend the cable sideways just enough to avoid the problem - too much back bending blocks the viewfinder and turns off the LCD. Hopefully I can hold the rubber band for a while and permanently bend the cable back to the correct angle (it might work) without damaging the cable. If you use this with a flash mount, you can wrap the cable around the mount and avoid the problem. However. I rarely use flash anyway, so I just keep a rubber band or two handy and adjust as needed. It may work better with other Sony cameras. If Polaroid product designers are reading this, the cable should come out of the shoe mount on the left side, not the front where the lens is. Left. Side.
