Review on GRADO GW100 v2 Wireless Bluetooth Headphones - Open-Back & On-Ear Design by Micheal Esquivel

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Incredible headphone sound

Absolutely beats other headphones I've tried in terms of sound quality including the HD 660S, DT 1990 Pro and Sundara. Regardless of the quirks/faults, they are worth 5 stars. Pros: - Sound quality, sound quality and sound quality. (UPDATE) Thought I'd add one more thing to this pro since I've had them for a long time. The highs are a little quieter, maybe a little warm, neutral but still quite clear. The mids are the bomb and the strings are to die for. I really can't believe the clarity and depth of the bass and that there is almost no roll off. It amazes me every time the bass guitar plays on Bela Fleck and The Flecktones' "Sex in a Pan." - A light weight. - The on-ear design is amazingly comfortable and the clamping force is perfect for me, but see the cons below for the downsides involved. - Battery life is good but not thoroughly tested. I believe they are advertised at 50% ABV for 40 hours. At the same time, I think 50% is a pretty good listening level for a quiet environment. (UPDATE) I use them for several hours every day and charge them once a week. You have never died. Cons: - Must be used with Bluetooth. If you connect them to Aux, the sound quality will be greatly reduced due to the loss of DSP. The above disadvantage makes them less versatile due to Bluetooth latency. For a small head, the clamping force may be too low. The band can be adjusted a bit, but this can cause the drivers to run too low at their lowest setting, which again doesn't work for a small head. Bluetooth range is good for what they're designed for, but could be better. Really reliable when you're in the same room, but don't expect to be walking around the house unless your phone is in your pocket. Sound leaks out of the open back, but that's to be expected. They are not for travel. Voice prompts for on/off and connection are loud and distorted. The button placement is a bit awkward. The button function otherwise works great for music. - (NEW) Slight creaking when moving the head. Nothing supernatural. All in all, the GW100 is ideal for listening to audio at home, close enough to your Bluetooth-enabled device. Not much for any other scenario due to the loss of quality on a wired connection. Because of this, my HD 660S maintains its low latency on things like gaming and videos. Two things to note in this review: - I didn't test the quality of the microphone or the call function with the buttons. Will probably never use them for that. (UPDATE) I've made several calls, including via Zoom, and everyone has said it sounds good so far. There is another ad for this product with over 100 reviews. It appears to be the same product and the old ad has gone, resulting in split reviews for no apparent reason. Since this is the version I bought and it was the latest version on 4OurEars official Grado shop, I will leave a review here.

"If you paid more than $12 for these, it was too much." (Comment from a friend.)
