Our two smaller American Shorthair cats (12lb and 5lb kittens) have enough space to lie down on the bed we provided together, use the litter box and the cage is strong enough to prevent that they tear during the 5-day journey. On the other hand, your 15-pound Maine Coon may have started tearing the web. He is a much stronger cat and given enough time he will be able to break out of the cage. In fact, once on a journey, he was able to tear his teeth apart and break out of his cage (thankfully this is an easy fix and he couldn't do it again). So unless you have a big strong cat or need to stack things on top of him I would recommend this cage. Once you figure out how to fold it, it doesn't take up much storage space and can be quickly adjusted if needed.
