It's good, but.: Cat Trees & Condos

It was easy to put together with me and my fiancé. It's tough for small cats, but we have an older girl who weighs about 15 pounds and while I think she could make it to the top, she doesn't and won't. It comes with a string to nail it to the wall to keep it from tipping over, but even without that it doesn't seem like it's going to tip over. Our two little cats love it. Two closed boxes that come with the kit are screwed in the middle. As you can see in a photo, the screw was sticking out. Too bad the screws are too long. My little cats loved lying in these little closed boxes, but after a few weeks the screw went through one and you can feel the screw going through the other, right in the middle so they can't even get in . I know I can just cover it with something but this tree costs a lot of money so I feel like I shouldn't have done it in such a short amount of time that I had it. But other than that it's a beautiful big tree that two of our four cats happily perch on (just on the poles and basket until we close the screw in the boxes provided). We don't have a carpet at home, so our big cat likes to lie on the floor. She doesn't have claws so she can't scratch with her front paws but our other three scratch her all the time. This tree will last us a long time but I was a little frustrated because the screws were too long and this is 100% plywood. We thought we would be the same. Good materials for the price but the carpet is cheap and so is the plywood. You could probably get something a lot cheaper and it would be the same, so watch out. The carpet material feels really cheap, but cats don't mind. I have attached some photos.
