These screw caps are more secure than snap caps, especially with liquid containing liquids, and are easier to remove and put on - snap caps or is difficult to slide up, either aren't they that secure, or the inevitable bending that occurs when they snap off will eventually snap somewhere (especially if used in a freezer). Screw caps do not have this problem. These are my favorite storage containers and the 1.2 cup size is the perfect single serving size, not too big and not too small. I like the little protrusions on the edge of the lid and the cup to hold onto while spinning. And finally, it might seem like a minor nuance, but I love that they have a smooth, round bowl shape that's easier to hand wash (I don't have a dishwasher) - a quick circular sweep cleans the inside without bulking up Having to focus ledges, nooks or nooks and crannies, like comparable Glad or ZipLoc containers (yes, the ribs where the holding area is molded are lightweight, but careless movements during hand washing can miss product that may be spilling along those ribs have dried and I always feel like having to run a rag over each comb is a small thing but a nuisance that adds up when you wash it all by hand and it's nice NOT to bother with those perfectly round Rubbermaid Indoors (version) having to mess around.
