I bought a set of 2 sockets. They appear to be the same as other sockets we have from other sellers. I assume there is one manufacturer and a number of resellers. Socket uses the SmartHome phone app for configuration. Pro Tip: Make sure your phone and outlet are on the same Wi-Fi network or the installation will fail. If all goes well, the installation will only take a minute or two. Now it's time to decide what you want to name the device. Choose wisely, because renaming Alexa is a pain after you've made it a chore. If you're already running Alexa, it should automatically become visible. I've had good and bad luck with the durability of these outlets in the past. Some will fail and need to be replaced after a month or two, others will last a few years. I usually keep a few in my desk drawer just in case. This kit worked right away, so it's a good start. If you're just getting started with the Alexa/Google ecosystems, this is a good place to start.
