This is a nice little mount and I'll almost certainly be buying another one or two. The mount is very flexible but holds up well no matter what position you put it in, and the magnetic base/mount doesn't move *at all*. A bonus for me is that the magnet screws onto the flexible arm with a standard 1/4 x 20 thread. When I don't need the extra length, I just remove the magnet from the mount and screw it directly onto my camera mount. CAUTION: If you are applying the magnet to a painted surface, be sure to put a protective barrier between the magnet and the paint! Completely flush with the surface, you can't remove the magnet, you have to move it and it will **scratch** the paint! I'll place the mount and if possible place the magnet partially behind the edge of what I'm sticking it to. The band takes the load when I need to move the magnet, and partially detaching the magnet from the edge allows the overhanging lip to be pulled up and lifted.
