The Lume Cube Mini Panel is just what you need. He does what he says, but you need to know his limitations and control your expectations. This makes for great accent and video conferencing lighting, and also does a decent close-up job for on-the-go close-up portrait lighting in a pinch. This gives you visibility in really dark areas, but if you're doing real video work use GO or the full panel if you can afford both. It is excellent for close-up shots of food or fine detail, as well as macro photography. If you want this to be your go-to portable portrait lighting, maybe if you bounce it off a reflector to spread the light, but this little fella just doesn't have enough throw distance, but he's not set up for it. This can work well in astrophotography or long exposures to add lighting effects on the go. It's not a bad light, but I think GO is way better. I would be happy if I could switch mini to Go.
