This accessory is perfect for small productions. The grip is enough to hold an LED light, a pistol microphone, a wireless microphone receiver and an external monitor (or recorder). All this in a small package while the camera tripod mount remains available. I wouldn't trust a hot shoe screw that much, because it can always slip off, so you can't hold on to the handle. If you want to handheld the camera, try a full mount/cage, or you can use an L-Bracket so the left hand holds the camera and the right hand holds the camera body.
