So I was hoping for a really turnkey solution to capture video from my Nintendo Switch and XBOX One. What I got was a bit confusing at first. Had issues with the HDMI transmission initially, wasn't sure if it was just bad connections or didn't like the switch block initially, but it took about 5 minutes just to see the video only. The pass appears to be 100% lag-free, so good news. Then the following problem appeared: My laptop has a limited number of USB 3.0 ports but many USB C ports, which are version 2 3.1 ports. So plugged in and it froze after about 2.5 minutes or so after you have used it. It was easy to reset but yes the video froze at times but the audio kept going. OK, a quick investigation found that the most likely culprit was the bandwidth allocated to the device, so I looked up my laptop documentation and got myself some USB-C cables to move my USB hubs on my laptop around the controller to isolate. Luckily it worked and the device no longer freezes. However, the brightness when recording video seems very dim, and the settings in XSplit for the device don't seem to really adjust the video while recording, so there's more experimenting to get what I think is a 100% A++ 5 stars will be . It works well enough with some fiddling with the device.
