Review on πŸ”² Leick Oval End Table in Slate Black by Lauren Jackson

Slight dent in table top, loose screws, blocked hole

Arrived with all parts, lots of styrofoam padding. Upon unpacking the box, I noticed a slight dent on the visible painted end of the table top and 2 short pointed screws of the same size were dangling inside the box. The dent did not appear to have cracked the paint and was only visible when viewed from certain angles. The loose screws weren't the long screws used to attach the legs and weren't mentioned in the instructions. After researching I found that the screws should already be in place as part of the countertop. Use a suitable screwdriver to insert the screws into the holes. One of the screws did not fit properly in its hole. The other screw hole wasn't square - when I put the screw back in, the screw head was slightly crooked and wasn't flush with the surface. It appears that both screws remain inside and were under the table top so they are not visible. There were other screws that seemed securely fastened in their holes. When I inserted the pins holding the shelf, I found that one of the pins didn't fit in the hole. Found it was clogged with paint. Carefully dug up the paint and was able to insert the pen. What should have taken less than 10 minutes ended up taking a good 30 minutes due to these issues. I would also like to warn you that some of the places where you need to attach the leg screws were a bit tricky and might be tricky for someone with big hands. The table is quite nice and seems sturdy enough to be used next to my reading chair, so I probably won't ask for a replacement. If it weren't for these shortcomings, I would have given it 5 stars.
