The microSD slot is defective, apparently a disadvantage of many of these hubs
Unfortunately, the microSD slot on this device (even after replacing it with a second one) does not accept a card. That way you can insert them, but in a weird diagonal way that doesn't get fully inserted, and the card is never recognized or mounted by the host computer. I saw a comment from another buyer of this product saying they are having the same issue with this device and are only using an SD card adapter with a microSD in the SD slot. But that's not why I chose this hub, I wanted all the slots to work but they didn't. I sent both devices back and am now using a different hub.
