Very durable. There were no issues with cracking or breaking in public service. The description says 'foldable'. NOT, and I believe they mean "stackable" for compact storage. I don't see any use for "pencils, pens, paperclips or similar sized items as the holes in the baskets allow them to "fall through". But there are no questions about the main purpose (nutrition). I also use wax paper, tissue paper, paper napkins to line baskets and cannot attest to contact with food in its "raw" state in terms of melting, grease, stains, leakage or breakage.
