I haven't had any issues with smell or production. Everything is neatly sewn and looks durable. It's roomy and has plenty of pockets to keep it from getting too messy. The top zip doesn't fully close the bag so I'm wary of stashing loose items in the main pocket, but there are so many pockets and sleeves that this isn't a problem. The only problem I have is that after about four months of use, the leather strap starts to tear. I think it will come out within a year and I will have to replace it. Pretty reasonable for the price IMHO.
