I usually wear a size 8-10, but I ordered a size 10-12 (large) so I can wear many layers. You are perfect. The medium would not work. These overalls are warm and roomy enough to wear clothes underneath. I wear jeans and a shirt underneath and a coat over it when it's cold outside. Like all Carhart clothes they are a little stiff, but I haven't worn them enough to break them in. They are thick but not too bulky. I like the elasticated waist. This prevents them from falling too low. If I had to come up with a criticism, it would have to be that even though I'm a "short" size, they're still about 3" longer, but I guess it's not Carhart's fault that I'm short.
