Very low audio for CB and talkback radios

The transmission audio from this thing was so low other people could barely hear me. I plugged my old one back in and was told it was 100 times louder. The cable on my old one was worn out and I thought I might just replace it. The coiled cable was stiff, felt plastic, and didn't stretch well. I don't know how it will be in cold weather. I'm ashamed of all the great reviews. Wonder if I have the same I sent it back for a refund. For example, you get what you pay for
