If you are between sizes, the size runs smaller, will stretch a little when wet. The lining is fairly loose - you're closed, but it's loose enough that it makes you think. I'm not exactly sure what they looked like when wet since I wasn't next to a mirror. They dried pretty quickly and were comfortable. I would probably go for a higher quality product next time. I only wore them briefly in the pool, hot tub for a ride so can't comment on durability. The length was good for the pool - not too blunt, not revealing.
