This plate works well for a different purpose: organizing items in a large trauma or first aid kit. The panel fits nicely into the main compartment of the 5.11 Rush 24, with plenty of room behind for other items. I set up my pack so that essential items are on this panel for quick and easy access and items for less urgent injuries are in the pack's internal pockets. Unzip the zippers, pull out the panel and you have everything you need right in front of you. It protects large items from scissors, CAT tourniquets, Israeli bandages, chest cuffs, sponges, pads to nasopharyngeal airways or needle decompression sets no larger than the average sharpie. With a bit of fiddling, everything is set up on the panel to be held securely and easily accessed.
