Review on Universal 21'' Waterproof Drone Landing Pad By KINBON - Fast-Fold, Double Sided Landing Pad For DJI Spark, Mavic Pro, Phantom 2/3/4 Pro, Inspire 2/1, 3DR Solo RC Drones & Helicopters by Brian Sitton

Lightweight and easy to transport - Learning to compact it for transport takes a few tries.

I had been taking along a sheet of cardboard edged with duct tape as a makeshift launch and landing pad for my drone, but the elements took a toll, especially if set on wet grass or dirt. I got this after seeing some YouTube videos and like it for several reasons:As noted, lightweight and easy to transportHas a carry bag for the folded pad and plastic stakes you can use to hold it down in windy conditions.I do find that my drone likes the clear image of the pad as it lands and find it lands more accurately with this.It keeps dirt and debris from flying around during landing, reducing impacts on the drone and camera.I have not used the pegs as yet but nice to know they are there if I need them to hold things down in breezy conditions, although am guessing they may not be too durable if the ground is rocky or hardpan. It takes a few efforts to learn how to twist the open pad and bring it down to the small "hoop" shape needed to get it into the bag. I often carry it open in the car if I am alone on the way to a shoot, but am more comfortable now with twisting it to traveling size.Overall, a good investment.

Pros
  • not easy to fold
Cons
  • May be too expensive for occasional users
