These are good work gloves, leather thick enough to protect hands from all but the nastiest of stings or insect bites. The reinforced palm is a nice touch that also adds durability and protection. They're unlined, so they offer little protection from the cold, but that's not really their point. Most work gloves of this type are made of cowhide split leather, which means they have a rough suede side on the outside and inside, while they have a smooth side on the outside. Grain leather, like wallets or shoes, so it's a different kind and it sheds some moisture instead of being a sponge like split cowhide. Love the look and will use them for light to moderate tasks like using outdoor tools, picking up leaves and twigs, or cleaning brushes. For stone, brick or concrete I would buy cheaper gloves and plan for them to wear out quickly. In terms of sizing, they're probably pretty close to the standard glove sizes you're used to when you buy them. I usually wear a large size because I like my gloves to be snug, but I might as well go an XL size. Not being able to try them on I went for XL to be on the safe side and they fit great, just a little looser in the palm and fingers than I usually prefer. They are a bit stiff at first like most new gloves but I'm sure they will soften and mold to my hands very quickly.
