Installed a wall light above my desk but the switch was one of those wired switches I couldn't reach. So I screwed this adapter into an outlet, plugged in my lightbulb, and stuck the switch in the metal filing cabinet by my desk. It took less than 2 minutes and works great! Although in my application the distance between the switch and the bulb is only a few feet, I checked the range - I moved the switch to the farthest corner of the 12x12 space and it worked fine. I also like the fact that I can attach it to a magnet. However, if you don't like the magnetic mount, they also made an adhesive mount. There aren't any other mounting options, but I think you can just drill a hole in the mounting plate and fasten it with a screw.
